A trip to the forest (27.10.2011)

The forest, the great forest, the great thing we fear, with red walls made of trees, with red leaves for the roof ...

Always talking about the autumn woods, this time of year is marked by poems, songs, pictures and walks around outside the preschool. However, there is nothing more magical than a trip to the park or forest in autumn. The aunties are probably well aware that it is not fun enough for us just to sing "Colored Leaves," and make art projects with autumn colors, chestnuts and cones. They decided to take us on a trip to the nearby Kabaty Forest. We felt honored because only two groups went on this trip, and though we are four to six years old, we know how to behave in a forest.
From the bus stop to our destination was quite the walk, and although our legs refused to obey us, as soon as we saw the colorful wall of the forest in the distance we pressed on and a few minutes later we were already there.
After our journey, we quietly walked down the forest path, so as not to frighten the squirrels and so that we could hear the birds singing, just like our CD that we listened to with our aunties in the preschool. The aunties were our private investigators, who tracked down and photographed signs of autumn. We saw the toadstools and Hube, a fungus that grows on trees. We made beautiful bouquets of leaves, gathered acorns, and brought the best moss in the world back to the preschool! Auntie Dorota reminded us of something she had mentioned earlier about moss being as soft as a pillow, which we now found out for ourselves, in addition to the nice smell of the forest. And most importantly, something that you won't believe...we found two real boletus mushrooms! We had to take them with us to the preschool and show everyone what kind of mushrooms we saw. These two mushrooms, bark, moss, leaves and acorns now decorate our preschool, in our gallery of the forest.
We will always remember our trip by the magic, photographs, colorful autumn, and autumn memories.
